Cinematic education and education through film

Master's degree Cinematic education and education through film is the first university study program in Romania dedicated to training specialists in the use of film as a tool in education and in the valorization of cinematographic culture with the aim of facilitating knowledge processes and continuous learning. In the context of new technologies, in which information transmitted through audiovisual means has a strong impact on the formation of young audiences and decision-making by the majority audience, the study program offers in-depth training and certification of specialists capable of creating and supporting programs, workshops and exercises for children, adolescents and adults. These come to support self-knowledge and the development of cognitive and emotional skills that facilitate the conscious reception of films and the discerning use of audiovisual products, as well as digital tools involving moving images. The master's degree envisages competency-based learning, taking into account the development of professional skills related to the field of study for master's students.

Regarding the workshops and exercises dedicated to the pre-university environment that can be experienced and developed within the master's degree, they target literacy skills, cultural expression and awareness, learning to learn, as well as social and civic skills. Cinematic education and education through film focuses on infusing the creativity specific to the art of film with interactive and active-participatory teaching-learning methods, on operating with learning methods and techniques such as multisensory activation (VAKT), role-playing, reflection, investigation. The basis of these types of education are practical and creative activities related to the art of cinema, built on the principles of project-based, collaborative learning, as well as the experiential approach (learning-by-doing). Film is also studied as an educational tool created and received in relation to socio-cultural phenomena and processes specific to the modern and contemporary era.
