Theaterology (Cultural Management)

Bachelor's Program THEATROLOGY (Cultural Management)is aimed at those who want to study theater from a theoretical and managerial perspective, respectively those who want to contribute to cultural life through their work as theater scholars or show producers and cultural managers.

The curriculum offers students the opportunity for a double training: acquiring and deepening theatrical and cultural knowledge, in accordance with the standards of scientific research in the field of performing arts, as well as acquiring knowledge of cultural management and marketing, but also of the management of cultural organizations and institutions, which will allow them to work in any type of cultural and performing institution, but also outside them, as a producer of cultural events (festivals, workshops, artistic residencies, etc.)  

In this sense, the disciplines History, Theory and Italian the theater are complemented with disciplines in the field of cultural management and marketing, such as Introduction to Cultural Management and Marketing, Audience Studies, Cultural Management Strategies, Theatrical Planning and Organization.

These disciplines ensure the training of specialists in the field of show production and its exploitation on the cultural products market, who can easily work in the field of event production and in the creative industries.

This type of training allows our graduates to work in the country and abroad, in a multitude of professional spaces: public cultural institutions - theater, opera, museums, libraries; independent theater; university and pre-university education. Our graduates also work in government institutions (Ministry of Culture, Romanian Cultural Institute, Romanian cultural institutes abroad) or within non-governmental organizations in the cultural and educational field. Employment rate of graduates of this bachelor's program is over 80%.

Our students' specialized practice takes place:

  • within UNATC, in the design and organization of the annual events of the Department of Theater Studies: Open doors, Theatrology meetings, Graduate Gala, etc.
  • in partner theaters in Bucharest (Excelsior Theater, Odeon Theater, Nottara Theater, Bucharest National Opera, Comic Opera for Children, etc.)
  • within well-known theatrical events such as: the National Theater Festival, the International Shakespeare Craiova Festival, the HOP Gala, the International Radio Theater Festival, the International Theater Schools Festival, etc.

STAGE I

Elimination round
The test is marked as passed/failed.

Written test

duration: 2 hours

Analysis of a fragment of a play (from the competition bibliography).

STAGE II

The test is graded on a scale of 1 to 10.
10 – 15 minutes / candidate

Single sample

practical and oral test

  1. commentary on a cultural project or event in which the candidate participated (theater / film / dance festival / workshops, conferences at his/her proposal);
  2. interview.

CLAIMS:

  1. The final grade is the arithmetic average of the grades without rounding;
  2. The minimum admission average for places financed from the budget and for those with a fee cannot be less than 5,00 (five).
