Master Program New Media Design is aimed at studying digital media with possible applications in film and in any format of communication. Structured as an interdisciplinary program, the master's degree offers theoretical curricula and applied activities in film direction, film imaging, filmmaking and editing.
In this specific digital medium this topic is explored and explored in concrete projects that focus on turning creativity, trying to innovate in the future. Thus, students who are expected to become professional media technicians, can consult and participate in film projects in the film industry.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION
To correctly prepare the digital file, here are the main documents you will need in electronic format (PDF or JPEG):
- Application form (registration sheet) generated by the online registration platform, completed with diacritics where applicable;
- Bachelor's degree diploma and diploma supplement (or academic transcript), or a certificate issued by the faculty for graduates of the Class of 2026;
- Baccalaureate diploma and academic transcript;
- Birth certificate;
- Marriage certificate (if applicable) or proof of name change (if applicable);
- Master's degree diploma (if applicable) or a certificate of enrollment in a master's degree program (if applicable), detailing—by academic year—whether the student was state-funded or fee-paying;
- Curriculum vitae;
- Payment receipt for the fee (if payment is not made via the online registration platform) or documents proving exemption from the registration fee;
- Specific requirements for each study program, in accordance with the methodology (eg, statement of purpose, portfolio uploaded to a virtual space made available to the candidate);
- Identity card or passport (valid for at least 6 months from the start of the study program—for foreign citizens);
- Certificate of recognition for the baccalaureate diploma and/or bachelor's degree diploma issued by the Ministry of Education (for studies completed outside Romania);
- Romanian language proficiency certificate (for EU and non-EU citizens) for study programs conducted in Romanian;
- English language proficiency certificate (for EU and non-EU citizens) for study programs conducted in English;
- A written recommendation from a legally constituted Roma organization (civic, public, or political) attesting to the candidate's Roma ethnicity—rather than their membership in that specific organization—for Roma candidates applying for dedicated places approved by the Ministry;
- Supporting documents, as specified in the admission regulations, for candidates coming from the social protection system or those with disabilities;
- Consent for the processing of personal data (Information Notice generated by the online registration platform);
- Standard medical certificate (issued by a family doctor, confirming fitness for university enrollment).

This is a standard requirement for documents requested during the admission process, ensuring they can be easily uploaded and processed via the online platform. Complete submissions are handed in after registration, exclusively in an online electronic format. The candidate must ensure that all required elements are present in the submission and can be accessed, otherwise they will not be admitted to the examination.
The university will provide, only after registration on the Edubits platform, a folder on a secured online platform where the candidate can upload the required documents. Access to this folder is restricted to the institution and the candidate. The access details will be communicated via the email address used for registration.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
CONDITIONS
All the required documents are to be submitted in English.
Candidates must have completed a degree with 180 credits or 240 credits;
When applying, candidates will submit:
- Curriculum Vitae
- A 1.500-2.000 word essay which would explain the reasoning behind the student's interest in new media field*;
- Student's portfolio with artworks relevant for new media experience (standard format,
these are to be evaluated for the first part of the exam 1.1)- 15 2D photographs that have a clear cinematographic sequence but also proper framing and depth of field, shot by the student;
- 5-7 panoramic photographs (cylinder of spheric) that have a clear cinematographic sequence but also proper framing and depth of field, shot by the student;
- Short feature film immersive 360/ stereo/ interactive (max 5 min);
- An interactive/immersive application;
- A new media design project (short film, application, vfx)
these are to be evaluated for the second part of the exam 2.2)
* Installations, blending virtual environments and characters with 2D image, stereoscopic experience, VR or AR experience but also MR concepts

Interview based on the candidate's CV and essay.
Section 2
Colloquium in English
graded from 1 to 10
- Viewing and analyzing the candidate's portfolio. Argument regarding the concept and explaining the workflow and analysis of the techniques used.
- Discussions around the design project for a New Media product (uploaded by the candidate in the application procedure).
In case of equal average marks, the candidates will be separated by taking into account the grades obtained in Section 2 and Section 1.
