The Master in Theatre Pedagogy is aimed at professionals in the field of Theatre and Performing Arts interested in transferring practices and procedures specific to the artistic act into the educational process. The central concept is the Pedagogical Artist, an artist prepared to hold training workshops based on a pedagogical scenario and to create educational theatre performances with a formative role, intended especially for young people (pre-adolescents and adolescents). The theatrical pedagogue prepares himself for an activity in the educational environment itself, but also for cultural intervention projects in artistic and cultural institutions, for the education and training of the public.
The curriculum provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach theater in schools and the community or to act as a creative artistic consultant in the public and private sectors, as well as in other activities that require professionalism in theater pedagogy.
The theoretical and practical activity (workshops, book publication, workshops, seminars and national and international conferences within the Master in Theatre Pedagogy) has given greater visibility to the benefits that theatre education has in the formation of the individual and has allowed the introduction of theatre as an optional subject in pre-university education, by developing the programs "Me and the Stage" (grades 3rd/4th), "Theatre and Us" (grades 6th/7th) and "Theatre Laboratory" (grades 10th/11th). The team that worked on these programs is made up of teachers and students from the Master in Theatre Pedagogy at UNATC.
